My retirement so far has been wonderful. An active outdoor life is important to me and I enjoy golfing , long walks and bike rides. My interests are fairly diverse; Jazz music has been of particular interest and I have been able to combine this interest with my Computer and my long walks. Since retiring I have graduated from listening toTapes on my Sony Walkman to my collection of 4000 tunes loaded on my I-Phone from I-Tunes and my CD collection.
Reading Mystery/Adventure novels is another passion I enjoy. I absorb at least 2 novels each month. My favorite authors are John Lescroart, Robert Ludlum and John Grisham.
I purchased my first Computer shortly after my retirement and have recently updated to a new PC from Dell with all the "Bells & Whistles". My CD/DVD Burner feature has been fun. I've created special Jazz Cds for friends and family.
In 1995 I created my own Website after I studied HTML & Java Script on the Net and from articles in "Smart Computing" PC Magazine (a good info source). I'm pleased that I was able to create this site from scratch without having to use Auto Editing Software. I have been able to maintain and make improvements and revisions to the different pages. It has been a Labour of Love!
I lost my wife Mary on June 16, 2005 after over 52 years of marriage.
We have two children Kathryn and Michael ; Kathryn has presented us with two wonderful grandsons Brendan(21yrs) and Christopher(16yrs).They moved to Calgary in 2005 and are sorely missed.Lots of air travel between Calgary and Vancouver now.
Ice Hockey has been a major interest in my life since my early days growing up in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and playing minor league hockey. I live and die with my Canucks each year and am glued to the TV set for all NHL games and International Hockey Events.
I am still enjoying my golf at Peace Portal GC .My game still needs a lot of work but no matter what happens I still enjoy getting out with my pals and the fellowship that ensues. I always look forward to our annual "Robert T Jones Golf Event" every year on the 1st week in September (Labor Day Week). 8-12 of us have been doing it since 1973 -we have enjoyed many venues from Port Ludlow in Washington State to Kelowna and more. >
